Beautiful resort. Lots to do and places to eat. Enjoying the swim out room that gives us a bit of peace to still enjoy the weather and scenery. The food was disappointing though. Most things were surprisingly bland or just poor quality. The sushi restaurant took 20min to get anything. They brought out one person's food, then 2 people's sides, then some of our main dishes, but many of us did not get all we ordered. The long wait and the disatisfying taste and quality of everything made us walk out. Room service was okay. Not really many options like other resorts. The room was decent, but there were constant gnats and flies, like the ones you see where there is a lot of moisture and mildew. There were a few spots like that mostly in the bathroom. The spa was amazing! We walked in and made our appointment and the price was almost 50% less than what was posted. Overall, it was a decent stay, thus the 4 star rating. But because of the food alone, I wouldn't come back here.

What an awesome trip!!! My family and I absolutely loved it. It wasn’t our first time in Mexico but it was our first time staying in one place (we’ve cruised to Mexico before) we were a bit weary about coming since we know it’s not a particularly safe island. But I never once felt unsafe. They took such good care of us and even on the tour we took to Isla Mujeres they were extremely attentive and there are a bunch of security checks. No one comes in or out of the resort without the guards knowing. Even the nearby town is full of police cars parting. Safety aside, let’s move on to the actual hotel. The entrance welcome was so cool I didn’t even know where to look and definitely didn’t expect it. The service in the hotel: the check in process (we’re prime travel members so it’s probably different than a regular check in), the help with the bags. The cleaning of the room, the drinks service (came often to give us water bottles), anywhere you went throughout the resort there was always someone asking if you needed anything. The food: the buffet we will admit wasn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. We didn’t think there were truly that many options. What saves the food in this resort is definitely the specialty restaurants. They have a variety of restaurants but we only tried the Italian, the steakhouse, and the Sushi & Teppanyaki. For Star class members or Prime traveler members there are special restaurants that are exclusively for members. In particular, our favorite restaurant was a quaint restaurant called “The Shore”. It was a breakfast buffet that was absolutely delicious. It was quiet at the hour we always went and the service again was spectacular. They do many things right but the one thing Planet Hollywood does right is their staff. In specific some staff members that became dear to us while in our stay were the following: Moises (from The Shore and Gusto Italian restaurant what an awesome cool guy with the best tips. He works for Royalton so he won’t be here after December) Eugenia (from The Shore) Martha (from the shore and literally everywhere she works super hard) Itzel (she was everywhere too what a sweet girl) Ramon (our Mayordomo who was great with details and staying on top of our dinner reservations). In general, I think it was worth the money. The weather was great while we were here (Late October) it rained but only for a bit and the sun would come out. The beach was clean but of course due to weather there were some waves. It was all super great. The pools were excellent, the star class pool was quiet and perfect, even the family pool which was huge was amazing even with all the kids. Never really ventured out to the Adult section but I’m sure it was great too. Overall 10/10.

Leading up to our trip I started getting worried if we had made the right decision booking with Planet Hollywood. Some of the reviews that were posted that I was reading really had me nervous about the experience we would have. I have to say this was one of the best vacations we have ever had with our family. Yes there were a couple of hiccups along the way but everything was addressed immediately. This was also the first time traveling since we joined the Prime memebership so our expectations were pretty high with not knowing what to expect. After this vacation we have no doubt that we made the right decision signing up and looking forward to so many more up coming vacations. Our butler's Alex and Ramon were absolutely fantastic arranging all dinners, massages on the beach, splatter paint for whole family and fast drivers. They truly made our vacation one to remember. Staff throughout entire resort were wonderful and so polite. As far as food goes you will never go hungry. The breakfast buffet we preferred at the shores as was much quieter and food seemed fresher then at main buffet. Lunch our go to spot was Burger Guys. AMAZIING. We had dinner at all of the restaurants except for the seafood. They were all pretty good. We ate 2 nights at the steakhouse and did notice a difference in the quality between the 2. Our room was spacious and beautiful. Only issue we had was room was very damp. We asked for a dehumidifier and that helped a great deal. I have been to many resorts and only negative thing I would say about Planet Hollywood would be the entertainment. You would expect because its Planet Hollywood that there shows would be top notch. I mean there props and the staff walking around in these amazing costumes but when it came to the shows and lack of involvement was extremely boring and disappointing. This was probably the worst out of all of the resorts I have been too. The club was a nice touch for some people we were traveling with as they enjoyed it very much. There were lots of things to do during the day besides the obvious pool and beach (which there were tones of chairs all over this resort) was first resort we didnt have to be up by 6 or 7am to grab spots. Which was great. They have mini golf, lazy river, basketball/tennis courts, flow rider, trampoline, arcade and the paint splatter. Which was lots of fun. Even though paint does come out it is not as easy as they say. (Men with chest hair highly recommend you wear a tshirt) Overall this resort was amazing and will definitely return.

Honestly it's a beautiful resort with well maintained rooms and grounds. They do have top shelf liquor if you choose star class. Unfortunately the food is not that great. It doesn't match the quality of the rest of the resort. It's a rough (bumpy) 40 minute drive from the airport. The beach is super soft and a good width. All the staff is cheerful and happy to accommodate.
Reflections Of Beauty
We stayed from October 23-30th at Planet Hollywood in Cancun Mexico. The chef at Sutra Indian Restaurant was so hospitable and his food was amazing. It felt like we were part of his family the way we were treated not only by him but also his staff. Both Antonio and Carlos Flores attention to detail and enthusiasm in ensuring that our needs were met and exceeded was beyond expectation. Manager Jose ensured that if there was something missing that it was taken care of right away. Our experience here was so amazing that we cancelled our reservations at other restaurants to go back 3 times. They made our stay that much more enjoyable. A big thank you goes out to Hugo in guest services who helped us out immensely when we had difficulty. The staff made the difference in making our stay here incredible. Thank you 🙏
