The rooms are spacious and airy and the grounds and facilities are wonderful. The service were excellent during our stay. They all helped me so much with one group member and they always so attentive, friendly and professional. The rooms were lovely.Much spacious comfortable and clean. Our time at thaala was amazing. It was really worth for the money you spend. Our day outing time was absolutely well spend. Nothing to complain. The service was superb. They welcomed us warmly with sri lankan traditional drum session. The food was amazing. Pool area were very good. We will definitely come back again.

The food was absolutely delicious — every meal was thoughtfully prepared, with a great variety of local and international dishes. The breakfast buffet, in particular, was outstanding! We also loved the serene pool area and beach access — the perfect spots to unwind and soak up the tropical vibe. Bentota was our last stop of the trip, and we wanted to keep it light. So we chose a resort where we could simply relax in comfort, and Thaala lived up to our expectations. Located right on Ventura Beach, it’s perfectly positioned to offer everything you could want from a beach holiday. Whether it’s swimming in the pool, surfing high waves, jet skiing on the calm Bentota Ganga River, visiting the turtle hatchery, or boating—it’s all right there. You don’t need to go anywhere else.The resort itself is sprawling, with two large pools and one baby pool, a gym, spa, two restaurants, manicured lawns, a mini library, and a pool table. I would suggest adding a small games room for kids to make it a truly complete resort.The check-in process was smooth, and the staff member personally escorted us to our room while explaining all the facilities. We booked a room with triple accommodation for two nights, and it had everything we could ask for. The buffet at the restaurant, Greece, featured a wide spread with a separate dessert section to maintain freshness. Our Jain food requests were handled with care by the chef, Mr. Dilruk, though the food itself was somewhat average in taste. He was attentive and ensured every guest was enjoying their meal.The hotel also provides direct access to Ventura Beach, eliminating the need for any travel. Overall, Thaala is a highly recommended stay when visiting Bentota.

--- Good Things--- 1. The hotel is located in a place where you can easily access the sea. 2. The beach was clean. We didn't take a swim because the sea condition that day was not good. 3. The room was amazing. It was very clean and spacious. When I got into the room, I felt like I was at my own place. My wife and kids also loved the room. The room has a separate area to change/store your swimwear/bathing suits/dressing, etc. And there was a really good coffee maker. 4. They provided some tea, coffee, creamer, sugar, and water in the room. We wanted more coffee and water at night, so we requested it from the reception, and they provided it without charging any extra payment (we highly appreciated that). 5. The room had a nice big TV with a good and stable satellite TV connection. 6. The staff were really friendly. They provided excellent service. 7. They provided a buffet for us with three action stations. The food was delicious and fresh. They provided many seafood items. 8. They have a nice garden with coconut trees. They have maintained it very well. 9. The pool also was really good (4ft depth). And it was very clean. They have two pools. --- Things They Have to Improve --- 1. It would be really good if they could increase the variety of items at the breakfast. 2. The bathroom doesn't have a general power socket. (If you need to use a hair dryer or trimmer within the bathroom, then that will be a problem.) --- Overall Conclusion --- This is a good place to visit and enjoy. I will definitely visit this place again, and I recommend this place to people who want to have a relaxing vibe or family entertainment.
