I recently stayed at New York Hilton Midtown, and wow I honestly felt like a VIP even though my budget was just right for this trip! From the moment I checked in, everything exceeded my expectations. A special shoutout to Anna Jaworowski, our amazing housekeeper, for her exceptional service. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — always checking in, keeping everything spotless, and making sure the room was well-organized and functional. The bathroom was super clean, and every detail made me feel relaxed and worry-free. The hotel’s cleanliness, comfort, and warm service really stood out. Even the dining area felt like a VIP experience the food was delicious, and I left every meal completely full and satisfied. Overall, this stay made me forget my stress and just enjoy the moment. I’ll definitely be back the next time I visit New York. Highly recommended!

Massive hotel that's in a very-good location for tourists or businesspoeple (depending on where you want to go). Super convenient for Central Park, Broadway theaters, Times Square, MoMA, 5th Ave, Rockefeller Center, and a lot of subways. Ultimately it got the job done -- reasonably clean, reasonably comfortable, and I was able to sleep well. But yikes, so many problems they should be urgently addressing. The room is definitely very dated and dusty, but as mentioned got the job done and I was comfortable. I've definitely seen worse in my travels. I'm glad that the window opens for fresh air (a rarity in big hotels!) but the blackout curtains were not truly blacking out. You can definitely hear some noise from the street and the hallway / neighbords. Also housekeeping barged into my room around 9am despite me having a do-not-disturb sign on. This is very unacceptable. The elevators are a total mess. They claim they're under construction and will be improving. But sometimes it took more than 10 minutes to get up or down -- which is simply unacceptable for anyone who has places to be, or wants to sleep, or in case of something like a medical emergency. The front desk is a total mess too. The staff were quite kind and knowledgeable, but at peak times there were lines to check in or out that also took 20+ minutes. This is also unacceptable. The "destination fee" is absurd because it is not a resort. There's literally hardly any benefit besides for the $35 destination fee you get a $35 property dining credit... okay, but a freaking crappy-looking pre-packaged chicken sandwich is $27... The breakfast buffet is decent but massively overpriced. You can choose cold continental for something like $32 or full warm american for something like $45. But then there's tax on top of that, and a 10%ish service fee, and then they expect a tip. So the $32 continental breakfast ends up being over $40 per person and the daily property credit as mentioned is only about $35. So maybe that works if you're travelling alone but not with other people. You'd be better off dining off-property. That said at least they had a few high end products in the buffet and kind staff.

I have stayed here multiple times for the NYC marathon and other trips. The staff have always been wonderful, in every aspect that I've had dealings with them. Our most recent stay for the 2025 marathon was unfortunately just ok. There was apparently a severe lack of towels and wash cloths , starting Friday when we checked in. I went to wash my hands and when I turned to dry them I realized there were no hand towels and no wash cloths, but two bath towels. I assumed it was just an oversight and mentioned it to housekeeping when we saw them but they had none either. We eventually were able to get a hand towel at least and two extra bath towels. This seems like something management should have communicated and not let fall on the shoulders of the housekeeping staff. Other than that it's a decent place to stay with a really great location for exploring the city. It's especially great if you're running the marathon or cheering. I would love to see some updating and elevator improvements, since they definitely struggle at busy times.

My partner stayed here for a work trip (Monday check-in, Thursday check-out). He arrived late Monday night and the toilet was already not flushing properly. Unfortunately, the problem was never resolved during his entire stay and it remained clogged. On both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, I called maintenance for him because he was in meetings the entire day. Each time, someone came up, but by the time he returned from work in the evenings, it still wasn’t working. That means the two full days he was actually in the hotel, the toilet wasn’t functional. Maintenance had entire days to resolve the issue, yet the problem persists. It left the impression that either the plumbing here breaks down often or the staff isn’t taking the time to actually confirm that things are fixed before moving on. To be clear, this wasn’t from misuse no excess toilet paper or foreign objects were involved. It was just a basic function of the room that never worked. The location of the hotel is excellent and very convenient for work or leisure in Midtown. At this price point, and from a company as large and reputable as Hilton, especially in a flagship 4-star hotel in Midtown Manhattan, you expect the basics to be reliable. Not having a working toilet for the entire stay is unacceptable.

Updated review!! You cannot get ahold of anyone at their front desk. I was on hold for 1 hour with Hilton customer care and no one from management could answer my call. This property clearly is not run to the standards that Hilton strives to provide. Won’t stay ever again My company booked our stay here for a convention, which was very nice and accommodating the event space and convention services were well organized. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives stopped. The hotel itself feels quite dated. The elevators, hallways, and guest rooms all have a tired, 1980s look. The fixtures in my room were old, and the carpet and overall feel reminded me more of a nursing home than a modern Hilton. Service was also disappointing. When calling the front desk, I was cut off multiple times and didn’t feel the level of friendliness or attentiveness I typically expect from the Hilton brand. Interestingly, a colleague of mine stayed on a lower floor in what appeared to be a renovated room theirs felt much more modern and refreshed. It’s unfortunate there isn’t more consistency throughout the property. Overall, while the convention experience was good, the hotel itself left a lot to be desired. I’m unsure if I would choose to stay here again.
