Great Location and Solid Stay Overall The location is fantastic—so many subway stations nearby that make getting around super easy. The view we had of the North Tower Pool is surreal and definitely a highlight. The room itself was a bit small, but probably standard for NYC. The bathroom was a decent size, though. Beds and pillows were comfortable, and we had no issues sleeping. The water was extremely hot, which was great, though the water pressure was just okay—but still did the job. The shower head hose leaked and soaked the floor, which was a bit of a hassle. Our AC ran nonstop and never dropped below 70°F during our stay. We did have four people in the room using hair dryers and straighteners frequently, so that may have played a role. We did have some elevator issues; not everyday but enough to be an inconvenience and cause you to rethink your coming and going. The doors would sometimes close halfway, reopen 3–5 times, then finally shut and change floors. One person in our group tried to stop the door, and it closed on their forearm and started moving—thankfully, they were able to pull their arm out in time. Over our five-night stay, we had several instances where we waited 15+ minutes just to go up or down. Overall, we loved the hotel more for its location—easy access to transportation, easy access to outside food, and things to do. We felt safe around the hotel and appreciated the great price. This hotel will definitely be on top of our list when we return to New York!

This hotel is newly renovated. The view was great, room is clean. Bed very comfortable. There is a fridge and coffee machine in the room. There are few problems, first is the air-con system, it was set by default at 68°f and we are not able to adjust the room temperature any lower, don't know why i felt so warm and its like 74°f instead. The air-con is at the window area, so the window area was cold.. but at the bed area is not as cold. Then the hair dryer was not working, try calling housekeeping, reception, operator, all is the auto answering with no ways you can speak to a human. Then the shower, OMG, its those water saving kind of shower head, very weak and slow. You got to take longer time to shower because of that!! Who's brilliant ideas to install this kind of water saving shower head, actually it waste more water as I takes more then double the time to shower.

STAY WAY!! Seeing other reviews inspired me to write this one. MSocial charges for services not provided and REFUSES to refund you. The hotel is also poorly renovated with mold in the shower, bad caulking work and poor workmanship, really just lipstick on a pig. FULL STORY: I booked this hotel, showed up and they had cancelled on me because of a "credit card issue" and told me they were now full. To start, that's terrible to do that. I had a confirmation but they refused to accept it. I did not arrive late, why not let me provide another card. Regardless, despite saying they had no rooms, Hotels.com showed otherwise (I should have been wiser at this point). I booked through the app, checked in, got to my room (see videos) and that was the experience in the room.. a horrible repeating hammering/drilling sound maybe from HVAC but it continued when I turned that OFF. I returned to front desk who said they'd send maintenance and refund my money if it couldn't fixed. I returned to my room, waited over an hour, nothing. I struggled to find another hotel that was available but found the Hilton. I returned to the front desk, who called a manager then said maintenance was still coming but didn't know they where they were or when or if they could repair whatever the sound was. I requested a refund and first said they couldn't because I was OCCUPYING the room 🤦‍♂️then because Hotels.com had to issue it. I contacted hotels.com who said they would contact the manager by phone to help resolve the dispute. The manager made no attempt to be available for the call hotels.com was making and then the manager said she didn't have authority to issue a refund (then you're not a manager) and that only a director had the authority (next day). Despite showing the videos of what the condition of the room was and them refusing to come to see for themselves, it's past 11 at night, I'm now exhausted arguing (VERY civilly I should add despite being actively screwed by the hotel), hotels.com said they would continue contacting the hotel the next day, which they did and M Social refused to issue the refund. So I'm now I'm disputing with my credit card. Wish me luck.

We were very satisfied with the hotel and the staff — the room was clean, and the view from our window was beautiful. However, be prepared for the possibility of being charged twice for your stay and not receiving a refund. We stayed at the hotel from September 3rd to September 6th. I prepaid for the room on August 3rd. Upon arrival, the front desk told us they required a $400 “guarantee payment” before check-in, which would supposedly be refunded after checkout. My husband paid this deposit with his credit card, but later we discovered that the full room amount was also charged to his card, in addition to my original payment. We have called the hotel four times and filled out the refund form twice. It has now been over a month since our stay, and we still haven’t received the refund. We also have proof of both payments and all communication with the hotel. Just be aware of this issue before booking.

This hotel is completely unprepared to offer the level of hospitality you’d expect for a luxury NYC hotel. Upon arrival at noon, they told my wife and 6 year old our room was ready but that we’d have to pay $100 to check in early, they said check in was 4 but maybe if we came back at 2 or 3 “they’d be nice”. We decided to wait since we had afternoon plans anyway and asked if they would take our bags. They told us we need to bring them back downstairs. We asked if they’d deliver them to the room when it’s “ready”. They said no. When we came back to the hotel around 6pm they gave us our room keys. Upon arriving in the room, we realized we only had one bed. We booked and paid for two. We called and they said it was because they were busy with people extending stays. So we were supposed to stay in the smaller room with no compensation and my child had to sleep on the couch. When we booked they had advertised a pool and restaurant with room service. Two things my daughter really loves. Both were closed with no advanced notice. They said they’d give us a $30 per day credit towards food but they only had a small pop up downstairs that was out of hot food both days. I travel often for work and personal and I have to say that this has been the worst service I’ve received at a hotel in this category. It’s what you’d expect at a Motel 6 (maybe worse).
