Design and Layout The resort is new, beautifully put together and very spacious. Easy to navigate and never feels crowded. Location Right on the promenade with shops and restaurants, and close to a genuinely family friendly beach. Lovely area overall and worth recommending. Pools and Facilities The main pool is huge, split into two sections. The heated side is brilliant for children, with floats allowed. There is also a kids pool with slides which went down well. Facilities are strong across the board, including amphitheatre, games area, sports bar, gym and kids club, all good quality. Dining The restaurant looks fantastic, stylish furniture and a great layout. Food quality is good, but repetitive, which lets it down. We were half board, which was adequate, especially as there are plenty of nearby dining options. Rooms Modern, nicely designed and a good size. Balconies are decent with partial sea views. Issues We had a persistent ant problem in the room which the hotel never fully resolved. This knocks it down a star. Overall A solid, enjoyable resort with great design, strong facilities and a top location. We would return.

We have been staying at the Barceló for 2.5 weeks (room 2141). While the hotel itself, the rooms, and the pool area are visually appealing, our overall experience has been disappointing. The main issue lies with the service, particularly at the reception. Unfortunately, we found that most of the reception staff were neither friendly nor motivated. Their manner towards guests often felt indifferent and, at times, even unfriendly. The hotel’s motto is “Every gesture counts to make a huge difference.” Sadly, we did not feel that this principle was reflected in our experience. During our stay, I had to visit the reception multiple times — five times to replace a faulty wrist chip for the door, three times to exchange money for tips, and three times to report issues such as a blocked sink. To illustrate, my first disappointing encounter occurred when my wrist chip stopped working. I waited for 15 minutes at the “My Barceló” counter, as I am a Unique member. After the guests at the other counters had been served, a receptionist approached and told me that if I continued to wait there, I would have to wait another three hours until that counter reopened — and then refused to assist me. I left and tried to resolve the issue through the app instead. My most recent experience was today. I went to the reception to request shower gel after my call the previous day went unanswered. The staff member simply shrugged and said it was not his mistake but that of his colleague. Overall, the staff appear not only unmotivated but also insufficiently trained. On one of my first evenings, I tried to order a glass of wine. To make it easier, I pointed directly to the exact wine on the menu. After ten minutes, I received the wrong wine. I returned it and, another ten minutes later, was served a second incorrect (and cheaper) wine. I accepted it but decided not to order wine again during my stay. In summary, while the hotel facilities are pleasant, the lack of professionalism and customer care at the reception significantly affected our experience. We sincerely hope that management takes this feedback seriously and invests in better staff training and service culture — so that future guests can enjoy the high standards the Barceló brand promises.

Excellent hotel. Huge, impressive setup including a massive pool and landscaped grounds. Room layout is a little odd with the sink outside of the toilet in the main room, though it still functions. Hotel is clean throughout and our room was cleaned spotlessly everyday. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Food is good though not amazing, though there is plenty of choice. We really liked the Mediterranean restaurant on the right when entering, for some reason it is always quieter than the other buffet restaurant, and the decor is beautiful. The evening entertainment is good fun, including the kids mini disco. Gym is well equipped with great open air views. Overall it’s a great hotel which I would definitely return to.

Ramaine “A Di Manijah” Morrison

The best holiday I’ve been on ever. Everything was perfect at Barcelo. The buffet had lots of choices and it was all very good tasting food, the rooms were cleaned everyday and not just changing sheets. The poolside was relaxing, the staff were all friendly and polite. This was just the absolute best place I decided to stay. I recommend 100% I am already looking to book another trip at barcelo.

Stayed here for a week with my partner. The room was great (apart from the leaking A/C, which only got fixed on our final night). The entertainment was good. Big shoutout to Amine, Antonio, and the girls! They’re a huge asset to Barceló. Without them, our trip would have been much less fun. They organised multiple activities throughout the day, such as water polo, stretching and balance classes, and several performances in the theatre that kept us entertained. The food at the buffet was okay, definitely above standard for buffet food, though a little bit repetitive. Another big shoutout to Sliman, who looked after us and was always up for a chat. Great gym overall with solid equipment. There’s no air conditioning, so bring a vest or something light, as you’ll be sweating buckets. Would come back here if visiting Lanzarote again.
