stayed with my partner at the Kalima Hotel for two weeks, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The hotel perfectly matched what we were looking for: a relaxing vacation, mostly to spend quality time together as a couple, without the rush of doing too much sightseeing (since it’s not our first time in Thailand). We stayed in one of the Villas and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was. Every detail was perfectly functional, and it offered great privacy since it was located at the end of the hotel, close to the beach. The food at the hotel was delicious. Breakfast offered a basic buffet, but both hotel restaurants had a good variety of dishes — from pasta to meat options — which I really appreciated as a picky eater. Service was 10/10 — the staff were always smiling and seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. It was lovely to see that during our stay, there was even a day when the hotel organized a staff party on-site, and everyone looked so happy. The beach was nice — not really comparable to the Krabi area (those beaches are truly paradise!) — but it was perfect for relaxing on the loungers while listening to the sound of the waves. The spa was incredible, I received a massage that aligned each and every one of my chakras. The service was super nice, offering tea and cookies throughout. Points for improvement: there wasn’t always staff available at the beach kiosk; sometimes there was no one around to assist us or offer drinks. Other than that, I would 100% recommend this hotel:)

Kalima Resort and Spa Khao Lak – An Unforgettable Stay in Paradise We stayed at Kalima Resort and Spa Khao Lak for a week during the low season and were absolutely blown away by the experience. Not only did we receive an incredible 73% discount off the original price, but this resort turned out to be the best place we stayed during our month-long trip around Thailand. This was our first visit to Khao Lak, and we couldn’t have chosen a better resort to end our holiday. Nestled in a tropical oasis surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery, Kalima offers the perfect balance of tranquility and luxury. It’s located slightly out of town, making it an ideal spot for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional. Every interaction was genuine and full of Thai hospitality. The resort’s facilities were outstanding – multiple pools suitable for all ages, and a fantastic kids club where our daughter spent most of her time, happily entertained and cared for by the lovely staff. We were also impressed by the free activities included in our stay, such as canoeing on the river, where we were lucky enough to spot an elephant bathing, and Thai kickboxing lessons with one of their experienced instructors. The dining options were excellent, with three restaurants offering a mix of international and Thai cuisine. Our highlight was the Teppanyaki BBQ at the Gin Bar & Restaurant, where our meal was cooked right in front of us – a fun and delicious experience we’ll never forget. The cocktails were the best we have had in Thailand. Our deluxe room with a spa bath was spotless, beautifully designed, and conveniently located near all the resort’s facilities. Even on rainy days, we were well looked after – the resort provided umbrellas and a shuttle service to take guests anywhere around the property. Overall, our stay at Kalima Resort and Spa was nothing short of amazing. The beautiful setting, attentive staff, and incredible amenities made it the perfect ending to our Thailand adventure. We will definitely be recommending Kalima to all our friends and family – and we’re already planning our return trip next year! 🌴✨

We enjoyed our stay at the kalima resort. We booked a one room private pool villa, I strongly recommend this hotel, the location of the resort is very special with a clean and beautiful private beach. Many attractions and activities are available. We took the shuttle bus to khao lak center during our stay. One negativity should be mentioned about the breakfast time it’s little bit crowded restaurant and food isn’t the best but still variety of options. Above all it’s a great place for staying the hotel is clean,staff is very friendly and helpful, We’ve had a great experience overall

Disappointing Experience at a Supposed 5-Star Hotel We stayed at Kalima Resort, which is marketed as a 5-star property. While the hotel grounds and room design are aesthetically pleasing, our overall experience did not meet the expectations associated with a hotel of this caliber. The hotel is located outside of Khao Lak, which makes it rather isolated. Any outing requires a taxi or the hotel’s shuttle service, which operates only three times a day — at 13:00, 16:00, and 19:00 — limiting flexibility for guests. We had booked a room with a pool. While the room itself was indeed beautiful, it is important to note that the pools are either private or shared among several rooms. This should be clearly communicated at the time of booking. Breakfast was diverse and generally tasty. However, the dining area is open-air, not air-conditioned, and unfortunately full of flying insects, making the experience quite uncomfortable. Additionally, there is only one table suitable for more than four guests. The staff does not allow rearrangement of tables, meaning families or groups larger than four are forced to sit separately. The most troubling issue occurred on July 28, when we returned to our room to discover there was no hot water. We immediately contacted the front desk and also reported the problem via the hotel app. We were informed there was a malfunction and it would be resolved within two hours. However, this did not happen. The only solutions offered were to shower in a vacant room or at the lobby, which is far from an acceptable resolution for a hotel in this price range. We were not offered a room change or any form of compensation. Even after check-out, our proactive request for a follow-up and compensation was met only with an apology from hotel management, without any tangible remedy. A hotel that charges premium rates and claims to be 5-star must demonstrate a higher level of service and professionalism. In cases of utility failure, such as a lack of hot water, immediate room replacement or an upgrade at a nearby partner hotel should be standard procedure. This was not handled appropriately, and we left deeply disappointed. We do not recommend this hotel to travelers expecting a true 5-star experience.

The hotel is very nice and quite big. The swimming pool is big including the kid swimming pool. I like that they have a mini private pool right in front of your room. Too bad we did not get that kind of room We got a room on the second floor. It was pretty hard with a baby and a stroller working up and down. Other than that, everything is good. Especially breakfast is the best. There are a variety of food and sweets. The staffs are friendly
