The room was acceptable overall, but there were several issues. The bed was too small, and I couldn’t lay comfortably as my feet hung off the edge. The sink design was impractical — a large bowl that took up nearly all the counter space. I had to book this hotel at the last minute, so I can’t fault it for lacking certain amenities. However, the biggest problem was the poor soundproofing. I could hear everything from the hallway, and the connecting room made it even worse — every conversation from next door was clearly audible, making it difficult to sleep. The location was convenient, close to the metro, and being in Manhattan was a plus. That said, the down button for the elevator on the 42nd floor didn’t work, so we had to press the up button, ride the elevator up, and then go down. FIDI isn’t the most ideal area, but it is more affordable compared to other parts of the city. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this DoubleTree. Unfortunately, that seems to be a recurring issue with DoubleTree properties lately.

I had a great stay at DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown. The hotel is modern, clean, and very comfortable, with spacious rooms and all the amenities I needed. The location is excellent—close to the World Trade Center, One World Observatory, and great restaurants. What really stood out was the staff—they were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I also appreciated the warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in, a sweet touch that made me feel welcome. Overall, it was a convenient and enjoyable stay, and I would happily return next time I’m in NYC.

As big as that hotel then need more elevators. The first floor need to be cleaned up and more presentable My thought the 2nd floor was very nice and open The elevators were slow going up and down. Did not like the auto lights in the bathroom especially middle of the night if you had to use it you got fully woken when the lights turned on goo location great food around

Great location in Dowtown Manhattan, close to Staten Island ferry, 9/11 memorial and the subway. The room was very small with not much room to store luggage or get ready as it was shaped diagonally. We paid extra for a city view but what we got was two big buildings and a bit of the river. We were on the top floor for this underwhelming view which meant that the lift took forever as it was very slow. The reception staff were very friendly but didn't carry out a request for an extra luggage stand that I asked three separate times throughout our four night stay. I asked housekeeping on the day before we left and had one within the hour, although was a bit late by then. The bed wasn't too comfortable as it was quite hard. We stayed here thinking the Doubletree brand would be as good as it is in London but were sadly disappointed by how small and basic it was. The best thing about the room was the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. If the room had been bigger I would have been happier. Overall, a really good base for exploring.

Tiny room. There’s a luggage rack but no place to open it for use. Do not order an Uber if you are waiting for the elevator. The elevator with no exaggeration can take 5-10 minutes to show up And since there are only two real elevators for this 44 story hotel, it will stop at every floor and if you’re claustrophobic, God help you. 20 or 30 people with suitcases will stuff into this tiny elevator. Uber waiting charges will apply. They do not clean the room. Cause “ housekeeping sometimes “does not get around to it’”. But when requested they do make the bed and leave new towels. Location is good.
